Obituary of Sydney Ellen Birch

Please share a memory of Sydney to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Sydney Ellen Birch, 21, passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday November 22, 2016 at a local Bangor hospital, surrounded by her loving family. She was born November 6, 1995, the daughter of Amy Lynn and William Ray Birch. Sydney attended Brewer High School, where she played varsity field hockey and softball. She loved many things, including animals, sports and helping others. More than anything, Sydney loved her sister, Maddy, and spending countless days with her family at the lake. She spent her last week on Earth happy to be shopping, crafting and enjoying quality time with her Mom, Dad, and closest family members. Sydney is survived by her loving parents Amy and Bill; her sister Madison Birch; maternal grandparents William and Judith (Mimi and Papa) Fraser of Bangor; paternal grandparents Benjamin and Bonnie (Nana and Grampy) Birch of Holden; aunts and uncles, Kate and Scott Fraser, Dawn and Rick Cowan, and Jackie and Jeffrey Birch; cousins, Megan, Emily, Brianne, Rebecca, Kara, Ethyn, Austyn, and Joshua; as well as many extended family members and friends. Although Sydney gained her angel wings in heaven, she will continue to be a hero here on Earth through organ donation. Family and friends may visit 4-7 PMTuesday, November 29, 2016 at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 299 Union St., Bangor. For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Bangor Area Recovery Network, 142 Center St., Brewer 04412.
