Obituary of Russell D. Burpee

Russell David Burpee Eddington—Russell David Burpee, 72, passed away on March 28, 2017. Russell was born in Old Town, Maine, on August 12, 1944, to David and Maxine Burpee. Russell graduated from Lee Academy and served 3 years in the U.S. Army. He married Marie Jackson in May of 1972. Russell spent the majority of his working life at the mill in Old Town, retiring in 2015. Together with Marie they had two children, a daughter, Traci and a son, Cori. Russell enjoyed watching baseball and was a life-long fan of the New York Yankees. Russell is survived by daughter, Traci Adams and husband Wayne of Orrington; grandchildren Miles Adams and Delaney Adams of Orrington; son, Cori Burpee of Brewer; sister, Arlene Slade and husband Wayne of Huntsville, Alabama; brother, Paul Burpee and wife Victoria of Glenburn. He was predeceased by his wife, Marie Burpee, parents David and Maxine Burpee, and brother, Walter Burpee. At his request, no services will be held until spring when a graveside service will be held at the Cardville Cemetery, Cardville. Arrangements by Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 69 State St., Brewer.
