Ginette M. Kardos

Ellsworth & Bangor – Ginette Marie (Gannet) Kardos, 92, passed away peacefully June 29, 2017 from the arms of her beloved friends and caretakers at Courtland Rehab and into the arms of her creator. She was born July 18, 1924 in Paris, France, the daughter of Henri and Paule (Breve) Gannet. She worked as a secretary in France from 1942 to 1961 and then emigrated to England. She worked for the Red Cross in Europe and here she earned a certificate of completion in hotel and motel management. Her dream was to come to the United States to embrace peace, love and freedom and she took tremendous pride in having become a US citizen. Ginette loved sewing, knitting, rug hooking and loved cooking recipes that appeared in the Tuesday edition of the Bangor Daily News. Her greatest passion was her love of animals.

Ginette has no surviving relatives and she was predeceased by her husband, her parents and her grandparents.

A graveside committal service will be held 10 AM Thursday, July 6, 2017 at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Ohio St., Bangor. For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 207 York St., Bangor, to the Salvation Army, 65 South Park St., Bangor or to the Bangor Humane Society, 693 B Mt. Hope Ave., Bangor, ME  04401. Arrangements are trust to Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 299 Union St., Bangor, ME and messages and memories may be shared at kileyandfoley.com.
