Please share a memory of Dale to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Dale Lee Mims Glenburn—Dale Lee Mims, “Frenchy”, passed away suddenly after a brief illness on January 22, 2016, in Bangor while surrounded by his loving family. Dale was the son of Charles and Nena Mims. Dale was born in Limestone on February 12, 1969. He grew up in Madawaska and graduated from Madawaska High School. After graduation, Dale began a long career of public service by becoming an EMT and eventually he became one of the finest paramedics in the State of Maine. Dale most recently worked for County Ambulance in Ellsworth and Memorial Ambulance Corps in Deer Isle. During his career, he also worked for Madawaska Ambulance, Crown Ambulance, Capital Ambulance, Peninsula Ambulance Corps, G&H Ambulance, East Millinocket/Lincoln Ambulance, and as a dispatcher for several years at Medcomm. Dale impacted many, many lives through his work and will be remembered for his compassionate patient care and the time he took to mentor new EMTs. In August 2012, Dale married Kelly Kittredge at their home in Glenburn. Kelly was the world to Dale. Despite their time together being cut short, they lived a very full life in the time they did have. Dale loved fishing, hunting and camping trips with Kelly in the Allagash; moose hunts with his Dad, uncles and cousins; and simply being out in nature. He looked forward to his walks “out back” at his home to check the game cameras and was so happy he could deer hunt nearly every day this past fall. He enjoyed watching the planes fly over his home, jokingly referring to the single engine planes as “B-52’s” in memory of his time growing up near Loring Air Force Base in northern Maine. Dale had a quick, contagious smile and always had a song in his heart. Dale is survived by his loving wife, Kelly of Glenburn; parents Charles and Nena (MacWhinnie) of Madawaska; 15 aunts and uncles; more than 36 cousins; mother-in-law Elizabeth Bedard; sister-in-law Kari Kittredge; countless friends and coworkers. He is also survived by his much loved dogs Dallas, Fiona and Gizmo who were his constant companions while he recuperated from many bouts of illness The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at St. Joseph Hospital who helped with his emergent care, LifeFlight for the care and transport they provided, and the doctors and staff at EMMC for their kindness and guidance during Dale’s passing. “I’ll see you later, I’ve got stuff to do!” Family and friends may visit from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, January 27, at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 299 Union St., Bangor, where a funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 28, with the Rev.
