William Stuart Hall, 78, passed away at home surrounded by his family on October 21, 2016. He was born May 7, 1938, the son of Stuart and Olive (Bailey) Hall.

William graduated from Brewer High School in 1956. He worked as a press foreman for the Bangor Daily News for 34 years. He enjoyed his classic cars and visiting his friend Mike Graves at Graves Dryland Marine in Orrington. One of William's favorite things to do was work on snowmobiles and go to snowmobile races.

He was predeceased by his parents. He is survived by wife Shirley of Brewer; son William S. Hall II of Eddington; grandson Tyler Grindle of Hermon; sister Sandra Walker of Bangor; half-sister Roberta Carter of Ellsworth; many nieces and nephews. He will be remembered by his close friends Romey Seymour, Joe Davis and Bob Parlee. The family wishes to thank Esther Sanborn and Laura Salisbury for the loving care they provided to William.

Family and friends are invited to visit 5-7 pm Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2016, at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 69 State St., Brewer. A graveside service will be held Thursday, Oct. 27, at Mt. Hope Cemetery, 1048 State St., Bangor, with the Rev. Jack Williams presiding. Those attending are asked to meet at the Superintendant's Lodge inside the State St. gate at 9:50 am for a procession to the grave. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Multiple Sclerosis Society of Maine, 74 Gray Rd., Falmouth, ME 04105.
