Obituary of Charles Wesley Hart

Charles W. "Charlie" Hart, 82, husband of Donna (Hewes) Hart, passed away Aug. 10, 2021 in Bangor after a brief illness. He was born Aug. 4, 1939 in Portland, the son of Wesley L. and Anna A. (O’Donnell) Hart.

Charlie was a 1957 graduate of John Bapst High School and was a 1961 graduate of St. Anslem College. He began his financial career at Universal C.I.T. He was a community banker at Merchants Bank for many years before joining the team at Merrill Bank. Charlie ended his career as Executive Vice President at Merrill Merchants Bank. Upon retiring, he resided in Rotunda West, FL returning to Moulton Pond in Dedham each summer. Charlie’s family and many friends will miss his great sense of humor and love of life. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Grove City, FL.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Donna of Dedham and Florida are his three children, Daniel Hart and his wife, Natalie Cox of Batesville, AR, Karen Hart of Portland and Colleen Hart of Bangor; one grandson, Wesley C. Hart of Batesville, AR; one brother, David Hart of Brewer; nieces and nephews, DJ, Annemarie and Matthew Hart and several cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 AM Thursday, August 19, 2021 at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. John’s Catholic Church, York St., Bangor with a reception to immediately follow. Private burial will be at a later date. For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital HERE or to Boys Town, PO Box 8000, Boys Town, NE 68010 or HERE Arrangements trusted to Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, Bangor and Brewer.
