Ellen Kimball

Obituary of Ellen A. Kimball

Orrington & Dover, NH - Ellen Alice Kimball, 80, of Orrington Maine passed away peacefully on March 1, 2025 in her home surrounded by her children.  Ellen was born on March 3, 1944 in Rollinsford NH, the daughter of Raoul Labrecque (deceased) and Ann (Gorman) Haberstock (deceased).

Ellen lived most of her life in South Berwick Maine where she worked in various factories ranging from shoemaking to electronics fabrication, retiring from Janco Incorporated in 2006.

Ellen was a devout Catholic with unwavering beliefs and prayed regularly for her family and friends. She was accomplished at needlepoint art and had a magic touch with animals, often nursing sick animals back to health (including a rooster named Wilbur who protected her with his life).

Ellen is survived by her brother and sister-in-law Richard and Rita Labrecque, daughter Anita Kimball, son Richard Kimball, grandchildren Alunae Tackett and Ryder Tackett, cousins Gayle Whitney-Hall, Robert Dodge and Cara Morrow, half-sister Barbara Labrecque, and goddaughter Linda Corless. She had many close friends including Joan Couture, Karen Vendasi (deceased) and Barbara LaCroix.

The family would like to thank the Hospice Care team at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Bangor, Maine. Our lead Hospice nurse, Michelle Allen, made it possible for Ellen’s wishes to be with her family while she passed to her next life, which made her happy and at peace.

An informal wake service for family and friends will be held 3 - 7 pm Friday, March 14, 2025 at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 69 State Street, Brewer Maine. Burial will be later this spring. Messages and memories may be shared with her family on the tribute wall of kileyandfoley.com.
