John C. Millett Obituary

 


Bangor - John C. Millett, 88, died April 17, 2025 at the Maine Veterans Home in Bangor after a long illness. He was born August 5, 1936 in Bangor, the eldest son of F. Everett and Mary T. “Maura” (Kiely) Millett and he grew up in Brewer.


After his graduation from John Bapst High School in 1954, he attended the University of Maine, Orono and married Marjorie Mahoney of Clifton in 1959. John served in both Naval Reserve and the Air National Guard and worked at the Bomarc Missile Base in Bangor before moving with his family to Seattle, Washington to work at Boeing Aircraft in 1961. He spent many years on the west coast later working on the Alaska Pipline. When he returned to the east coast, he worked at General Electric in New Hampshire and Portsmouth Naval Shipyard and settled in Kittery. John was a kind and gentle man a thoughtful, calm soul who loved to read and loved music.


John is survived by his daughters, Katrina Price and her husband, Roger of Laramie, Wyoming and Michelle McKone of Wakefield, NH; his sister, M. Mary Cormier and her husband, Raymond of Hampden and her brother, Jerome R. Millett and his wife, Sharon of Auburn and Naples, FL; his grandchildren, Jason Millett of New Mexico, Katie Ogden and her husband, Mike and Chance Price and his wife, Shelby all of Laramie, WY; great grandchildren, Luke and Maura Ogden of Laramie, WY; many nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his parents; the mother of his children, Marjorie; his son, Michael; his brother, Robert and his sister, Elizabeth and a nephew, Shawn. John’s family would like to thank all the staff at the Maine Veterans Home for all the love and care that John received during his stay. They will always be in our hearts.


A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 AM Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Ohio St., Bangor. Burial will be at Mt. Pleasant Catholic Cemetery, Bangor and a reception will be immediately afterward.  Messages and memories of John may be shared with his family on the tribute wall of kileyandfoley.com.
