Shirley E. Martin Obituary

Shirley E. Martin, 91, passed away peacefully at her home in Brewer surrounded by her family on May 16, 2025. She was born Jan. 4, 1934 in Portland, the daughter of Reginald J. and Estelle M. (Robichaud) Comeau. 


 


Shirley attended Deering High School graduating Class of 1951. She worked at local shoe shops hand sewing shoes. She also worked at SoFro Fabrics until retirement. Shirley was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Reginald Martin. She enjoyed many crafts, gardening, square dancing with the Levi Rounders for 13 years, and bird watching on the back deck with a cappuccino. She will be dearly missed by her cat, Buffy, who you would always find by her side.


 


Surviving are  four children, Donald Martin and his wife, Kim of El Paso, TX, Patricia Martin and Eric Estes of Brewer, Richard Martin and his wife, Sue of Greenbush, David Martin and his wife, Diane of Boise, Idaho; seven grandchildren, Heather, Heath, Michael, Dawn, Amy, Allen, and Maelynn; 12 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; two brothers, Dana Comeau and his wife, Barbara of Florida and Albert Comeau of Windham; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Martin; many nieces and nephews. 


 


A graveside service will be held June 19, 2025 at 11 AM at Knapp Cemetery, Route 178 Bradley.  For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to the Bangor Humane Society. Messages and memories of Shirley may be shared with her family on the tribute wall of kileyandfoley.com.
