Karen Rose

Obituary of Karen Marie Rose

Karen M. Rose, 66, of Bangor, passed away peacefully June 5, 2025 surrounded by family after a brief illness. She was born on April 9, 1959, in Bangor, the daughter of Joseph A. and Carole L. (Braley) Eacmen.

Karen's father was an Air Force veteran and retiree, so growing up, Karen and her sisters moved around the country and saw many places including California, Georgia and Nevada. They also traveled abroad to England and she and her sisters had a bond that couldn't be broken with her love for her sisters being immeasurable and evident.

She was a graduate of Brewer High School, Class of 1977. Throughout her life, she worked in various jobs. Most notably, she served as a ticketing agent for the Bangor Police Department and also dedicated herself as a caring caregiver for the consumers of OHI. Additionally, Karen worked with preschool-aged children in a daycare setting where she found great joy in working with young children.

Karen was a board game enthusiast, particularly enjoying Yahtzee, Aggravation and cards. She was a fierce competitor, winning more than she lost. Family get-togethers were always a good time with Karen, she enjoyed playing cards or board games, talking with family about their lives, seeing her nieces and nephews and their kids as well as enjoying a dessert of some kind. She also enjoyed visiting her cousins in Orrington visiting regularly on Sundays to play cards. Like her father, Karen had a love for airplanes and could identify what type of plane when she saw one cross the sky. She even enjoyed parking by the airport to watch planes take off and land. She was also a movie buff and could tell you which actor/actress was in which movie along with whom they co-starred. Karen's movie collection was quite impressive.

Karen moved to Bradley in 2024 so she could be closer to her daughter's family. She spent a lot of time visiting and babysitting her granddaughter. She enjoyed watching her grow up and taught her many things. She took trips with the family to Portland and Massachusetts and, from time to time, Karen would come over for dinner sharing life stories and watching a Celtics game with her son-in-law and spoke of her time in Boston back in the day. Karen was known for her kindness, laughter, selflessness and unwavering love for her family. She will be deeply missed, forever loved and never forgotten.

Karen is survived by her daughter, Kori Marden and her husband, Eric, of Bradley; her granddaughter Brynn Marden and her step-granddaughter, Annabella Thurlow; her three sisters, Debora Eacmen-Fiske and her husband Bruce, of Anchorage, AK; Mary McCloskey and her husband, Jim, of Enfield; Susan Worcester and her husband, David, of Brewer; niece, Casey Bowker and her husband Cory; great niece Calie, great nephews Macklin, Payson, Tatum and Tydus; nephew, Joey McCloskey and his wife Abigail; great niece, Juniper; nephew, Brandon Porter and his girlfriend Morghan Hendsbee and their kids Ariyah and Makailyn; nephew, Micheal Worcester; nieces, LiNa and Li Mei Fiske.
