Gary W. Mushrow, age 78, entered into eternal rest peacefully on September 24, 2025. He was born in Bangor on June 24, 1947 to George and Grace Mushrow of Hampden.

Gary attended the Hampden school system. In 1966, Gary joined the US Army, serving two years in Panama. Upon his return home, he met Rebecca “Becky” Homsted. On June 14, 1969, they married and soon moved to Nashua, NH, during which time they were blessed with their first daughter, Angela. Upon returning to Hermon Maine, to build a home and to raise a family, they were again blessed with their second daughter, Jessica. Gary was such a proud father who loved his girls. Blessings continued when Angela married Cory Clark and two grandsons, Jacob and Andrew were born. Gary enjoyed sharing his music collection with them and always had treats on hand whenever they visited.

Most of Gary’s career was in the construction field. He was a hard-working and dedicated employee. Although he worked for several companies, he enjoyed his time at M.D. Hardy the most. He was very proud that he had worked for three generations for the Hardy’s.

Gary had many interests. He enjoyed music, and had speakers installed in the home, garage, and even outside when he did his yard work. He also loved animals. His black labs, Chelsea and Gracie, were his constant companions. However, his greatest passion was for muscle cars. He owned several throughout the years, but his favorite was a 1969 Camaro which he enjoyed showing at all the local car shows.

Gary is survived by Becky, his wife of 56 years; and his daughter, Angela, his son-in-law Cory, and his two grandsons, Jacob and Andrew. He was predeceased by his daughter, Jessica, and his nine siblings.

A private graveside service will take place at a later date.
