Clifford Morton Gray Obituary

With deep sadness, our family announces the passing of Clifford Morton Gray, 90, who passed away on Oct. 1, 2025 at Ross Manor, where he had been a resident for more than two years. Many thanks to Engel Place for his care and Hospice in the last days.

Cliff was born in Indian River, Maine on Nov. 26, 1934, the son of Philip and Laura Gray. As a young man he enjoyed working on the sea in the Jonesport/Beals area. He eventually followed in his father’s footsteps working in the trucking industry as a long haul and local driver. One of his greatest joys in life was his involvement as a minister in the Community of Christ Church serving God and his fellowman wherever and whenever he found the opportunity. Cliff served as pastor of several branches around the State, as the Maine District President and Caretaker of the church campgrounds at Brooksville, Maine. In his retirement, Cliff enjoyed working for the University of Maine alongside longtime friend and locksmith, Mark Noyes.

Cliff was predeceased by his loving wife, Pearl and their daughter, Lorita. He was also predeceased by his sister, Janice Bunce and brother, Wayne. He is survived by his two children Jane Billings and husband, Larry, Ken Gray and wife, Pam and his step-sisters, Sheila and Sharon. He will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren, Brian and wife Jo-el, Marla, Kellie and Jeremiah, as well as many great and great great grandchildren.

Cliff will be lovingly remembered by his family, friends and church community. There will be no services per his request. Private burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Bangor. Messages and memories may be shared with his family on the tribute wall of kileyandoley.com.
