LIVESTREAM HERE - ACTIVE ON FEB 2, 2026 AT 12:50 PM
Maynard Ernest Weymouth, born Feb. 24, 1945, the ninth and youngest child of Chester and Violet (Piper) Weymouth, Maynard grew up in Readfield, Maine and passed January 28, 2026 at his home in Lowell. His family all shared a passion for hunting and fishing which has been passed down through generations. He married his high-school sweetheart, Bettina Watson, in 1966. This May 27th would have been their 60th anniversary. Together they raised their family in a cross-country adventure living in Maine, Texas, Alaska, Georgia, and California; before settling back home in Maine. Maynard spent 40 years serving in law enforcement. He began as an Augusta Police Officer after college. He then went to Texas for the US Border Patrol Academy. He spent many years in multiple federal positions including Border Patrol, Customs, Immigration, and Adjudication. He also spent years working for the Penobscot Court as an Officer. Despite his pride as a law enforcement officer and his obvious passion for hunting and fishing, anyone who knew Maynard knew his greatest love in life was his family.
He was predeceased by his parents, Chester and Violet Weymouth and also his siblings, Betty Beckim, Edith Knowlton, Mary White, Chester Weymouth Jr, Richard Weymouth, and Norman Weymouth. He is survived by his wife, Bettina Weymouth; his children, Gale and Colleen Oliver, Dale and Margaret Oliver, Michelle and Warren Ferland, Rebecca and Steven Begin, and Matthew Weymouth; his grandchildren, Maegan and Steven Scholes, Jacob and Miranda Ferland, Patrick and Kirsten Oliver, Paige and Dilan Maxfield, Benjamin and Mandy Ferland, Steffanie and Simon Lewis, and Samantha and Kameron Willey; great grandchildren, Mia Ferland, Anne Ferland, Mason Oliver, Raleigh Scholes, Callum Oliver, Maeve Maxfield, and Hugh Maxfield; his siblings, Retha and Donald Watson, and Leland and Alice Weymouth. He has many, many nieces and nephews and other family he has adopted along his journey.
