Dorothy R. "Dotty" Russell Obituary
Brewer - Dorothy “Dotty” Ruth (Fahey) Russell, 101, of Brewer, Maine, passed away on March 15, 2026, in Tyler, Texas. Dotty was born in Bangor on January 27, 1925, to Joseph D. Fahey and Ruby Spinney Fahey.
She grew up and went to school in the Bangor/ Brewer area. She loved to dance - the Jitterbug being her favorite - and did so from WW2 in her teens to well into her 90’s where she could be found line dancing with her sister, Jo. She worked many jobs throughout her life, including housewife, secretary, computer assembler and Police dispatcher. But the most important thing in her life was her belief and faith in God, followed closely by her love for her family and very dear friends. She was a long-time member of Messiah Baptist Church.
Dotty is survived by her three children, Dolores Gramley and husband Russ; Herbert Davies and wife Christine; and William Russell and wife Pam; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren; sister, Margaret Fowler and husband Richard; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
