William P. Arceneaux Obituary
William Arceneaux, 74, of Carmel, Maine, passed away peacefully at home on March 22, 2026, surrounded by his family. He was born on April 20, 1951, in Church Point, Louisiana.
William was a gifted, self‑taught mechanic who could repair nearly any engine. He proudly served his country as an Army combat engineer, stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War. Above all, William was most proud of raising his daughter as a single father and later cherished the time spent living with her family and being close to his grandchildren.
A man of deep faith, William loved the Lord and lived his life with a servant’s heart, trusting always in God. He was known for his kindness and his ability to make friends wherever he went.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Teresa Arceneaux, and his sister, Brigid Arceneaux.
William is survived by his daughter, Melodie Brower, and son‑in‑law, Benjamin Brower; his three grandsons, Daniel, Logan, and Henry; and his sisters, Laurie Manuel, Gerri Bellard, and Joanne Darbonne, along with many extended family members and friends.
A service to honor William’s life will be held 10 AM Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at the Rock Church, 1 Main Road North, Hampden. A burial and committal with military honors will take place 1 PM Wednesday April 22, 2026 at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Mt. Vernon Road, Augusta.
