Janet M. Brown, 77, passed away April 4, 2026 in Bangor. She was born Oct 2, 1948 in Bangor, the daughter of Ernest M. and Marion A. (Martin) Ballanger.

Janet grew up and was a longtime resident of Glenburn. She and her husband, Larry, owned and operated a trucking business and was known on the road by her handle, “Skinny Dip”. Their work took them around the country where Janet would always return with stories of their adventures. Janet was very social and was always present at family gatherings. She was active in the Grange and she enjoyed crafts.

Janet was predeceased by her parents, by her husband Larry Brown, by an infant, Jessie Brown and by her siblings, Gerald Ballanger, Mae Alexander and Barbara Johns. She is survived by her twin brother, James Ballanger and his wife, Rebecca and by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A graveside service is planned for early June at Lakeview Cemetery, Lakeview Road, Glenburn and will be announce at a later date.
