It is with deep sadness that his family shares the passing of David Alan Lainsbury, who died on July 28, 2026 at the home of his brother Edward “Ted” and sister-in-law, Anne in Mobile, Alabama. A longtime resident of Eddington, David was 65 years old.

Born on April 11, 1961 in Bangor, Maine, David lived a life marked by kindness, hard work, and a deep devotion to his family, friends and beloved pets. He will be remembered for his steady presence, generous spirit, and the quiet ways he cared for those around him. David spent his working life as a mechanic, tow truck driver and environmental services worker. He took great pride in his work and was especially known for his lifelong passion for tinkering with cars and trucks, always finding satisfaction in understanding how things work and keeping them running.

Outside of work, David valued the relationships that shaped his life. He shared a lifelong friendship with Eric Eldridge and held a special bond with his niece, Brenda Hatch and nephew, Michael Doane. These connections brought him joy and companionship throughout the years.

David is survived by his brother Edward “Ted” and sister-in-law Anne of Mobile, Alabama; his brother Paul and sister-in-law Alexandra of Worms, Germany; and his uncle Ralph Holyoke and aunt Margaret “Peggy” of Clifton, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Debra Anne (Doane) who passed away on June 22, 2026, as well as his parents, Ivory and Carolyn.

A memorial service arranged by Kiley & Foley Funeral Service will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Veazie Veterinary Clinic, 1522 State Street, Veazie, Maine, if desired.
