Obituary of Carolee Ann Corro

Please share a memory of Carolee to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Our Mom, Carolee (Worcester) Corro, passed away on March 1, 2023 surrounded by her family.  Having us all there only showed how much she was loved and God only knows how much she loved us back!  She was born in Millinocket, Maine, on March 28, 1936 to Donald Worcester, Sr and Nellie (Burrell) Worcester.

Mom attended grade school in Millinocket until her family moved to Lincoln in 1947.  When she first moved there, she would sit in the window of her parent’s apartment and watch the future love of her life come and go to work each day at the local market.  It wasn't until a couple of years later, they would be at the same function when this same gentleman, by the name of Harvard, asked her to dance.  Dancing was something they ended up enjoying together for over 65 years.  Those two could jitterbug with the best of them!

Mom and Dad’s married life began on July 25, 1954, one month after Mom graduated from Mattanawcook Academy.   At the end of 1955, they took off for El Paso, TX on a 4 month adventure for Dad’s training in the ME Nat’l Guard.  During those 4 months, they made lifelong friends and created memories they would share for years to come.  Upon returning home, Mom and Dad settled back in Lincoln and it's where we would become a family of 4.

In 1967, Mom and Dad moved us to Brewer, where they would live out the rest of their years.  Mom’s at home career was spent raising the two of us and her outside of the home career began in 1973 with PENQUIS Head Start at their Brewer center.  Mom retired from PENQUS CAP after 25 years of service, starting as a Parent Coordinator and ending as a Regional Supervisor.  This was a job she absolutely loved and they loved her!  For 8 years during her PENQUIS days, she and Dad owned and operated The Family Market in Holden.

Mom and Dad had many enjoyable years before and after retirement filled with travel and spending time with family and friends.  But more than anything, they found the most joy in their 4 beautiful grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Mom is survived by the two of us, Lee Corro and Kerri (Corro) Lynch and our spouses Rosemary (Andrle) Corro and Joe Lynch; her grandchildren: Zachary Corro (Kyli); Cameron Lynch (Bry); and Caleb Lynch (Megan); and her three great grandsons Owen, Drew and Jack Lynch.  She is also survived by her niece, Amanda Worcester. Mom was predeceased by her husband Harvard; their beautiful granddaughter Lindsay; her parents Don and Nellie Worcester and her brother Don Worcester Jr. Mom had many close cousins and friends that she cared for deeply.  She also leaves behind her special sister by choice, Bonnie Cone.

We would like to thank the staff and residents at the Ellen Leach Home in Brewer where Mom was so happy living there these last few years.  Also thank you to the nurses at St Joseph Hospital on the 5th floor CCPU as you all made quite the impression on us and we appreciate the wonderful care you gave to our Mom.
