Obituary of Holly Grace Parks

Please share a memory of Holly to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Holly Grace (Pennington) Scott Parks, 62, of Ellsworth, Maine, passed away on October 13, 2023, after an unexpected medical event.

Holly was born in Wynnewood, PA, on July 17, 1961. She grew up in Media, PA, where she was near many important people to her: grandparents, cousins David and Daniel Green, and the Ottos, who were like family.   In 1973, her family moved to Hamilton, NY, where she helped out with her younger sister and brother and rode her horse. Three years later, she moved to Ponte Vedra, FL where she attended Beaches Chapel School and Fletcher High School.  Throughout her adventurous years she lived in many places in both Jacksonville, FL and Massachusetts (Worcester, Marlborough, Sudbury, Hudson, and Leominster). She moved to Maine a few years ago and absolutely loved it. She was very intelligent and industrious and excelled in her work as an Administrative Assistant to top executives at several large companies, including IBM, Digital, Polaroid, and TJX. She most recently loved her new job at Jackson Laboratories in Bar Harbor, ME.

Holly was known for her uniquely amazing sense of humor. Her distinctive and legendary laugh was infectious and greatly admired. Even in tough times, she was optimistic and great at finding ways to allow humor to keep things upbeat and positive. She loved music and played the piano in her earlier years.  She was a big fan of 70’s and 80’s Rock ‘n Roll, especially Pink Floyd and the songs from Rocky Horror Picture Show. She also enjoyed playing card games and excelled as a gardener.

A wonderful and beloved person, she is survived by her mother, Caroline Anthony of Jacksonville, FL;  step-mother, Nancy Flint, of Leesburg, FL; sister, Dora Jackson and brother, Mark Pennington, of Jacksonville, FL; sister, Laura Pennington, of Leesburg, FL; granddaughter, Gizelle, of Marlborough, MA; grandson, Mason and granddaughter Shay, of Jacksonville,FL; niece, Ashlyn and  nephews, Jacob and Robert, of Jacksonville, FL; ex-husbands Jeff Scott and Fred Parks of FL; many extended family members and great friends from all over. She was predeceased by her father, Earl Pennington, and son Jeremy Pennington.

Holly loved animals, especially cats.  Memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society or Every Cat Health Foundation.

Psalm 34:18

“The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
