Obituary of Scott Carpenter
Scott Carpenter, 75, died November 24, 2023 in Bangor. He was born June 15, 1948 in New York City, the son of Carl and Dorothy Gustavson, his adopted parents who raised him in Connecticut.
Scott graduated from St. Thomas Seminary and St. Bonaventure University. He later found his passion in broadcast radio with a career spanning more than 40 years.
He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara A. (Woodard) Carpenter, whom he married in 1986. Also surviving are his brother-in-law, Reginald Woodard, Jr and a special friend and “heart sister” Tina Murphy who he referred to as “Little Sis”.
Scott requested that no formal service be held but requested that memorial donations be made to Bangor Humane Society, 693 Mt. Hope Ave., Bangor, ME 04401 or at bangorhumane.org.
