Obituary of Judith Ann Souder

Judith Ann Souder Winterport & Bangor - Judith Ann Souder, 78, died peacefully on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at her Bangor home. She was born July 27, 1938 in Millinocket. She was the daughter of William A. and Cecelia M. (Boutaugh) Wall. Judy was the last surviving sibling. She was predeceased by sisters Agnes Russell and Nancy Cormier and a brother William Wall. While living in CA she met and married Clyde Souder aboard the USS Bennington. After several moves they settled in Winterport in 1964 and she resided there until recently. Her husband of 54 years passed away in 2011. Judy was a long time member of the Winterport Women’s Club a chapter of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs. She held various board positions and remained an active supporter. Her love of reading was evidenced by the frequent stops to the Winterport Library. She loved watching all of the NE teams, was an avid supporter of the Republican Party and was a wonderful cook. Surviving are two sons; Lon E. Souder and his wife, Janine, and Trent E. Souder and his wife, Lauren, both of Winterport; daughter Tonya Souder of Gardner; grandchildren Lon R. Souder and wife, Kelly of Groton, CT, Heidi (Souder) Hewes and husband, Ben of Ledyard, CT, Edgar Souder of Bangor; great-grandsons, Jacob, Charles, Liam and Oliver Souder, Ryan and Aden Hewes as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. The family would like to thank the staff and residents of Park East Villa in Bangor, ME for ensuring Judy resided in a safe and friendly environment. In the spring of 2017 a graveside service will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery in Winterport.
