Bangor—Lillian E. Coughlin, 99, passed away at home Jan. 8, 2017. She was born in Lee Nov. 24, 1917 to Ralph and Edith (Delano) Coffin. Lillian, or "Gram" as she was known to so many, loved to cook for everyone. Those who knew her looked forward to her homemade rolls and bread. She was most proud of her grandchildren. They always brought the biggest and brightest smile to her face. She brought her family so much happiness over her 99 years and she will be greatly missed. She was predeceased by husband Francis J. "Bud" Coughlin; brother Ralph Coffin, Jr., and wife Arlene; sister Hazel Rudolph; son-in-law, Danny Reid; brothers-in-law James and wife Joanne Coughlin, Jerry Cormier; nephew Tommy Cormier; Great-grandson Michael "Gabe" Krog. She is survived by children Michael and wife Gale Coughlin, Patricia Reid and partner Harold Stevens, Timothy and wife Diana Coughlin, Kathleen and husband Michael LeBlanc, Mary and husband John Mooney; grandchildren Ashley and husband Bruce Gustafson, Lacey and husband Allen Sawyer, Stacey and husband Sheldon Beal, Danielle and husband David Tasker, Jenny and husband Michael Krog, Ben and Matthew Coughlin, Tim and wife Katie LeBlanc, Jonathan LeBlanc and fiance Emily Veilleux, Morgan Sturdivant and partner Mike Sargent, Kyle Sturdivant, Lauren and husband Tom Gross, Bryan Sturdivant; great-grandchildren Ariana and Meara, Evie and Tobe, Reid and Daniel, Caleigh, Elaina, Elise, Gracie and Haily; sister Elaine Cormier; niece Marilyn Whitney. The family would like to extend their thanks for Hospice of Eastern Maine for their caring and compassion during Lillian's final days. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 AM Friday, Jan. 13, 2017, at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. Mary's Church, 768 Ohio St., Bangor. A burial will take place immediately following the service at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. All are invited to the church hall at St. Mary's for a reception following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Eastern Maine, c/o EMH Foundation, PO Box 931, Bangor, ME 04402.
