Obituary of Hayden Blaine McCarthy

Orrington-- Hayden B. McCarthy, Jr., 50, husband of Michele (Reed) McCarthy passed unexpectedly on Jan. 11, 2017. Hayden was born in Lincoln the oldest child to Hayden Sr. (Buzz) and Joyce (Moors) McCarthy. Hayden was raised in Mattawamkeag and enjoyed the comfort of a tightly knit community of wonderful friends and family. Some of these early relationships were many of his fondest memories. Hayden is remembered for a number of his strengths. As a younger man, Hayden was an outstanding athlete, there were few games that he couldn't master quickly, but he particularly enjoyed the times spent on the baseball diamond, the basketball court and the football field. Before graduation from Mattanawcook Academy in 1984, he received a number of recognitions and awards for his abilities. In addition to his strength as an athlete, Hayden will also be remembered for the strength of his wit, his smile and his loyalty to those he loved. Hayden's greatest accomplishment was the loving relationship that he shared with his best friend and bride, Michele. Hayden and Michele enjoyed 15 years together, and forged an amazing partnership of love. Hayden was predeceased by his grandparents, Harold Moors and Esther Moors Thomas, and Hayden and Margaret McCarthy. Hayden is survived by and will be missed by wife Michele of Orrington; parents Hayden Sr. (Buzz) of Mattawamkeag, Joyce (Moors) McCarthy and her partner Nelson Ouelette of Milford; sister Jodi McCarthy of Bangor; brother Stewart and wife Jamie McCarthy of Houlton along with their children: Patrik, Kasey, Drew, Mason, Katie, Kayla, Ella and Emma; several dear aunts, uncles and cousins.
