Joseph L. Lappa, 65, husband of Marcia A. Lappa, died Feb. 9, 2017 in Bangor. He was born Dec. 11, 1951 in Millinocket, the son of Peter and Charlene (Aldrich) Lappa. Joseph graduated from high school in 1971 in Connecticut and returned to Millinocket where he worked for Great Northern Paper in the saw mill retiring after 25 years. He also was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting, fishing and camping. Surviving in addition to his wife of Orono are three children, Cynthia Jowders of Orono, Trisha Landry and her husband, Jimmy of Brewer and Joseph Lappa and his wife, April of Bangor; 6 grandchildren, Cameron, Brook, Andraya, Devin, Corbin and Daniel; his Aunt Gail and Uncle Richard who raised him in Connecticut; many cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, one sister, Elizabeth Aldrich and by a nephew, Everett Lee. Family and friends may visit 11 AM to 1 PM Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2017 at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 69 State St., Brewer. A graveside service is planned for late May at the Millinocket Cemetery, Millinocket with a time of celebration afterward. .
