Laura J. Nelligan

HOLDEN - Laura J. Nelligan, 89, wife of the late Paul J. Nelligan, died March 26, 2017 in Orono. She was born Nov. 10, 1927 in Underhill, VT, the daughter of Leonard and Cora (Russin) Sumner.

A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Laura loved her family especially times spent together camping and sailing. Laura and Paul were members of St. Paul the Apostle Parish and attended the Catholic churches in Bangor and Brewer.

Surviving are two daughters, Annette Nelligan and Kathleen Nelligan both of Glenburn; two granddaughters, Angelica Nelligan-Smith of Glenburn and Acatia Nelligan-Smith of Bangor; a brother-in-law, James Nelligan of Indiana; several special nieces and nephews. Laura was predeceased by her husband of 55 years and by her two sisters and five brothers.

Family and friends may visit 5:30 to 7:00 PM Thursday, March 30, 2017 at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 69 State St. Brewer. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 AM Friday, March 31, 2017 at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. John’s Catholic Church, York St., Bangor. Burial will be at Mt.
