Obituary of Mark C. Ellis

Please share a memory of Mark to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Mark C. Ellis, 54, husband of Tina L. (Lewia) Ellis, died unexpectedly June 7, 2017 at his home in Orrington. He was born Jan. 16, 1963 in Bangor, the son of Clarence M. and Bertha J. (Wilkenson) Ellis.

Mark grew up in Brewer and attended Brewer schools. He was a member of the Boy Scouts as a child and was a member of the Triumph Lodge,#119,  IOOF, Hermon. Mark owned and operated his own disposal service, M. T. Trash for 10 years and worked in steel fabrication and was certified with International Crane Repair and Inspection. Working long hours, Mark was a “jack of all trades” in a large variety of jobs in which he took great pride until the day he had a workplace accident resulting in a traumatic brain injury. Mark was characterized as kind hearted, very loving, fun to be around, would lend a hand to anyone in need, was extremely organized, always ‘read the instructions’ and could be a smart-ass joker. He loved to drive, with the patience and tolerance to be a school bus driver, and also enjoyed his time spent hunting, fishing and camping and he owned the most flashlights of anyone.

Mark is survived by his wife and best friend, Tina, of Orrington, whom he had been with for 31 years and was a month short of their 29th anniversary; his mother, Bertha J. Ellis and a brother, Aaakon Ellis and his wife, Mary and their daughter, Brigget; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, John and Sheila Lewia; sister-in-law, Anita White; beloved nephews, David and Nathan White whom he enjoyed taking to camp in the summers; many friends and children that referred to him as Uncle Mark. His family especially thanks Anita White and Bob and Melissa Jordan and each kind person who knows to remember the special man that was Mark Ellis and that knows that the actions of his last day were not those of the person they knew and loved. May he enjoy the taste of Crown Royal and beer once again with old past friends.
