Obituary of Jane Phyllis Drillen

Brewer--Jane P. (Jellison) Drillen, 93, passed away peacefully July 25,2017 surrounded by her loving family. Jane was the daughter of Clarence and Sadie (Russell) Jellison of Bangor. She was the oldest of five sisters. She grew up in the Bangor area and graduated from Bangor High School, Class of 1941. Jane then went on to the Maine State Normal School in Presque Isle and later worked as a civil servant during WWII. On May 17, 1946, she married Arnold Drillen and went on to raise a family of fpur children. Her career included managing and operating Oak Grove Spring Water, along with her husband. She worked at Freese's Dept. Store and later became a cook at Brewer High School. She eventually became the director of the Brewer School Food Lunch Program . She retired in 1987. Jane was pre-deceased by her husband; sisters Clarice Weston and husband Harry of Searsport, Elaine Watson and husband Malcolm of Bangor; brothers-in-law Gary West of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and Russell Drillen of Brewer. She is survived sons Cyril "Barney" Drillen and wife Kathy of Cape Elizabeth, Laughn and wife Shelley of Brewer, Dana and wife Debra of Bucksport; daughter Beryl and husband Mike Stott of Hermon; sisters Nancy Smith and husband Francis of Orrington, and Linda West of Ft. Lauderdale, FL. She was blessed with 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Family and friends are invited to visit 11 AM to 1 PM Friday Aug. 4, 2017 at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 69 State St., Brewer. A graveside service will be held following the visitation at Woodlawn Cemetery, North Main St., Brewer. Messages and memories may be shared with the family at kileyandfoley.com
