Obituary of Anita M. Parent

Bangor - Anita M. (Brilliant) Parent, 98, wife of the late George F. Parent, died November 7, 2017 at a local nursing home.  She was born September 20, 1919 in Old Town, the daughter of Alfred and Delia (Lauzier) Brilliant.

Anita grew up in Old Town and was a graduate of Old Town High School.  She worked as an office clerk at Great Northern Paper Company and Wood Products Company in her early years.  She resided in Bangor and was a communicant of St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Anita enjoyed doing needlework creating many beautiful pieces.

Surviving are five children, Terrence Parent and his wife, Joan of Scarborough, Donald Parent of Rathdrum, Idaho, Sr. Barbara Parent, RSM of So. Portland, Gregory Parent and his wife, Linda of Corinth, and Elaine Tremble and her husband, Michael of Holden; eight grandchildren, Eric Parent and his wife, Elaina, Jannette Figert and her husband, Matthew, Kimberley Parent, Nicholas Parent and his wife, Rebecca, Hilary Parent, Scott Tremble and his wife, Kylie, Anthony Tremble and his wife, Andrea, and Andrew Tremble and his wife, Megan; ten great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her husband of 68 years, George Parent, her parents, four brothers and two sisters.

Family and friends may visit 4 – 7 PM Friday, Nov. 10, 2017 at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 299 Union St., Bangor. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 AM Saturday, Nov. 11, 2017 at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Ohio St., Bangor.  Burial will be afterward at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Bangor.  All are invited to share refreshments and memories at St. Mary’s Parish Hall following the burial.
