Obituary of Eunice E. DeCesere
On Jan. 3, 2018, Eunice Quirion DeCesere started her long journey to meet and embrace those who have gone before her. She was born Aug. 4, 1926 in Brewer, the third of eight children to Evander and Julia (LaPlante) Quirion.
Eunice attended school in Brewer and was a 1943 graduate of Brewer High School. She married Vincent DeCesere on June 1, 1945 in the chapel at Plattsburgh AFB, New York. During her working career, she worked at many jobs ending with the Consolidated Officer/NCO Club in Bangor. She successfully closed the club with merit in May of 1980. Eunice and Vincent enjoyed traveling and managed to tour 36 countries including Vincent’s time spent serving in the military. She fell a little short of her goal to visit seventy-five percent of God’s earth.
Surviving are three children, Vincent Jr. and his wife, Jody, of Orrington, Evander of Orrington and Glee Honders of Verona Island; grandchildren, Hans Honders of Verona Island and Nicole Fletcher and her husband, Arthur of Orrington; great-grandchildren, Garret Allen Fletcher, Jacob Allen Fletcher and Kase Johannes Honders; sisters, Delores DeGrasse of Mariaville, Evelyn Siedel and her husband, Chester of Bucksport and Gloria Miller of Maine and Florida; a sister-in-law, Ila Quirion formerly of Brewer and a brother-in-law, Joseph Meehan and his wife, Sandra of Bangor; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; an infant daughter, Wendy Ann DeCesere and siblings, Clarice McNeil, Theresa Meehan,Wardell Quirion and Avis Noel; her son-in-law, Hans J. Honders and her daughter-in-law, Shaun DeCesere.
Family and friends may visit 1 to 3 PM Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 69 State St., Brewer.
