Marion E. Getchell, 85, died January 25, 2018, at Brewer Health and Rehabilitation after a period of declining health.  She was born in Brewer, the daughter of George and Flora (Small) Huskins.

Marion lived in Brewer her entire life.  She attended Brewer schools but left in her sophomore year of high school to help support her family.  She was employed by Freese’s Department Store, until her marriage to Stanley Getchell of Newburgh in 1952.  In the mid-1960’s she went to work at the Twin City Motel and worked there for many years.

In addition to her parents, Marion was predeceased by her brothers, George Huskins and Howard Kenney and by a sister, Mae Elliott; husband Stanley in 2006; beloved daughter Sandra Hurd in 2007.  She is survived by daughter Pamela and husband Gerard Concannon; son Garry Getchell; son-in-law Lawrence Hurd; granddaughter Heather and husband Edward Mercier; grandsons Christopher Concannon and Andrew Hurd; great-grandchildren Mackenzie and Mitchell Mercier.
