Obituary of Stephanie Jay Tardiff
Brewer--Stephanie Jay Tardiff, 65, passed away January 29, 2018 at a Bangor hospital surrounded by her family. She was born on February 10, 1952, in Bangor, the daughter of Donald and Carline (McInnis) Tardiff.
Stephanie was a proud graduate of Brewer High School, Class of 1970. She earned her Associate Degree in Human Services. Most of her working career was in the field of childcare. Recently, she enjoyed volunteering through the Foster Grandparent Program and Senior Companion Program.
Stephanie was well-known and admired by many for her sweet personality, fierce independence, caring nature, and ability to handle life's challenges with courage and grace. Stephanie was very proud of her family, and was especially proud to be "Nana" to her grandson Calvin.
Stephanie is survived by daughter Monica Karam and husband Jason of Warren; brothers Stephan Tardiff and wife Noreen of Pembroke, NH, and Tim Tardiff and wife Cathy of Bangor; sister Debbie Price and husband Peter of Brownville; nephews Jeremy Tardiff and partner Amy Currie, Joshua Tardiff and partner Debbie Fowler, and Peter James Tardiff; nieces Carrie Tardiff and fiancé Kelcey Przybyla, and Molly Briggs and husband Nate; great-niece Addison Briggs; the light of her life, grandson Calvin Jay Karam. She was very thankful and appreciative of the friendships she found and created at Chamberlain Place, her relationships with lifelong friends and for the many doctors and nurses who cared for her in her lifetime.
Stephanie was a passionate supporter of Brewer cheerleading from the time her daughter started the program in 1998. In lieu of flowers, Stephanie requested donations be made to benefit the Cheerleading program at Brewer High School. Family and friends are invited to visit 3-6 PM Thursday, February 8, 2018, at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 69 State St., Brewer. A private burial will take place at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Bangor. Messages and memories may be shared with the family at kileyandfoley.com.
