Obituary of Kenneth L. Porter, Sr.
Winterport – Kenneth L. Porter, Sr., 59, husband of Karen L. (Page) Porter, passed away peacefully Feb. 9, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born Jan. 14, 1959 in Bangor, the son of Francis L. and Leona M. (Wing) Porter.
Kenny and Karen were married for 40 years and he worked as a truck driver for many years. He was an avid stock car racing fan traveling around the state to watch races and he also enjoyed Nascar. He was a Kyle Busch supporter and he and Karen traveled to Loudon, NH to watch races. They also enjoyed the time they spent camping with his in-laws, Midge and Donnie Page. Kenny liked to “hang out” at Dunkin Donuts on Main St. in Bangor offering friendly advice to the staff.
Surviving in addition to his wife of Winterport are two children, Heather L. Porter Stetson and her husband, Matt of Orrington and Kenneth L. Porter, Jr and Crystal of Winterport; grandchildren, Nicole, Corey, Makayla, Christopher, Alexis, Harmony, Maisy and Michael; five sisters and two brothers, Margaret Fisher and her husband, Bill of Swanville, Francis Porter and his wife, Anna of Beaufort, SC, Barbara Deighan of Winterport, Ronald Porter of Pittsfield, Suzanne Beale and her husband, Keith of Winterport, Mary Wentworth and her boyfriend, Gordon Gross of Verona Island and Sarah Porter of Jackson; many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may visit 12 – 2 PM Thursday, Feb. 15, 2018 at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 299 Union St., Bangor where a service honoring Kenny’s life will begin at 2 PM as the visitation concludes with Pastor Stan Griffin, presiding. A time of fellowship and refreshments will be immediately afterward at the Snowmobile Club, 795 Bog Road, Hermon.
