Obituary of Anna Marie Brangwynne

Anna Marie (Connolly) Brangwynne, 86, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and devoted wife of the late Patrick H. “Huck” Brangwynne, died February 12, 2018, after a brief illness, surrounded by family. She and her twin sister Suzanna were born on September 11, 1931 in Somerville, Mass, the daughters of Martin A. and Mary J. (Kerins) Connolly.  

She raised her family in Medfield, Mass, where she was an active member of the Catholic Daughters of Saint Edwards Church.  The whole family enjoyed summers vacationing in Maine with extended family, where they chose to remain after their children were grown.  She was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. Teresa’s Catholic Church, and continued her faith with a Eucharistic minister who visited her at Winterberry Heights, where she had lived after her husband’s passing.  Since this time, the daily support of her son’s Keith and Thomas, allowed her to continue to have the comforts of home.

She is survived by her three sons and their wives, Kevin Brangwynne and his wife, Linda of Alpine, CA, Keith Brangwynne and his wife, Diana of Holden, Thomas Brangwynne and his wife, Linda of Bangor, and her daughter Mary Gilmore and her husband, Bill of Dighton, MA, son-in-law Richard Economy of Hermon; several grandchildren: Kyle, Brian, Erin, Lauren, Jacob, Jonathan, Robert, Courtney, Andrew, Emily, Tommy, Olivia, Sean, and Sara; as well as her great grandchildren, Colton, Nemo, Maddox, Finley and Audrey.  In addition to her husband and twin sister, she was predeceased by her son, Gerard Brangwynne, her daughter, Karen (Brangwynne) Economy and her great grandsons, Mason and Marshall Hatch.

A Mass of Christian Burial and burial at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Bangor, will be private.  For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to the American Stroke Association in honor of her late husband, 7272 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75231; or the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc, in honor of her late daughter, at 2600 Network Blvd, Suite 300, Frisco, TX 75034.
