rest in peace sir, you have earned it,

I was married to Vera, Phil and Blanche's niece. After we got married Vera told me that I had to meet her uncle Phil. I did and I am so glad I did. Every time we came home on leave they were the first people we would go visit. I remember one time I came home and he asked me if I wanted to work in the woods with him. So I did and what a workout that was. I went hunting with him, Robert and Wayne, sometimes during the day and sometimes at night. Those were good times. I learned so much from Phil and I think what I learned was how to deal with life. He told me don't worry about what other people think about you. Be concerned about yourself. After Vera and I got divorced I thought I would loose their friendship. That was a dumb thought. Phil and Blanche treated me like family and we talked about my divorce. I was so thankful for that. I am so sorry that he passed before I could visit him and Blanche again. I will miss him and my thoughts and prayers are with Blanche and the family.

Phil, I was happy to be a part of the family and a part of your life. In my eyes you were the best father in law I could have asked for. I will truly miss talking to you, but you will always remain in my thoughts and my heart. I will always love you.

I never got to know Phil as well as I would have liked to but I know he was quite the joker every time I saw him. We had a great visit with him and Blanche one day and I could tell he was a great person. He loved reminiscing and telling me story’s of working in the woods. He loved his family and grandchildren dearly. He will be sadly missed. Love to all

Words cannot express the heartfelt sorrow I have for everyone. Blanche and Phil are like a second set of parents to me. I am honored to not only have known Phil, but to call him a friend, someone that looked after everyone he met. I remember one day going over to see Joe, and Phil telling me that he would be there in a few, now sit down and have some dinner. Never did I see not have a smile on his face, always asked about my parents and if I needed something both Blanche and Phil would say come and get it. I will never forget when Robert had his accident with the bike and was in ICU, I went to the hospital to see everyone and the Nurse told Phil that only family could go in and see Robert, Phil jumped right up and told that Nurse, he is family. That’s the type of people this world needs more of, and I am proud to have that honor bestowed upon. What an amazing person he was and still is today, the way his children look up to him and smile when they talk about Phil. He will be missed dearly by everyone he has touched.
Blanche, know that he is sitting with Tania, talking about old times and getting ready to go fishing. My thoughts and prayers are with you always…
Wayne, Theresa, & Robert, know that we may not have really known each other all that well, I know that all of you are the person you have become today because of the love and faith that your Dad had for each of you.
Joe and Jackie, we grew up together, and in the words of your Dad, we are family. I wish that I could be there for you during this hard time, please know that I am there with you in spirit and that my thoughts and prayers are with you always. Nothing can be said to take away the pain of losing a great inspiration like your Dad, remember the good times, and the bad times will fade away. Love to you all………Your brother always……..
Phil, I know that you will be missed, especially by this fellow Veteran. Until we meet again;
Silent Hand Salute .... RIP
