Obituary of Daniel Hilyard
Brewer--Daniel J. Hilyard, 30, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on April 20, 2018. He was born November 17, 1987 in Florida.
Dan was a graduate of Brewer High School. He enjoyed working at the L.L. Bean call center. In his younger years, Dan enjoyed playing basketball, baseball, snowboarding, and skateboarding. He played drums in the school band and liked music, especially drum and bass. He was very creative, always thinking of ideas of things to invent and wanted to write a book with his brothers. He was a member of East Orrington Congregational Church and spent many hours reading the bible and sharing about his faith in Jesus Christ with everyone he met. He loved packing shoeboxes for Operation Christmas child with his family to help hurting children know Jesus Christ as their Savior.
Dan was kind, caring, and compassionate. He was always asking how he could help and worked on planting the garden, working at camp, raking leaves and any projects that needed to be done. He loved his family and spent a lot of time with them. He deeply loved his Dad and spent many hours talking with him and hunting on Kings Mountain. He had a strong faith and spent time talking and praying with his mom, always telling her how blessed he was to have her as his mom. He adored his brothers and loved playing video games with them, watching Star Wars movies with his brother, Cody, and recently built a computer with his brother, Peter. He had a special relationship with his auntie, Rhonda and his Mammy, Marilyn. Dan told each of us how much he loved us every time he saw us or talked to us.
He is predeceased by grandmother Marilyn Hilyard; grandparents Leo and Hilda Hartery; uncle Daniel Hilyard, whom he was named after; close great aunts Jacqueline Overlock and Lorraine Veilleux.
