To Isaac’s family and close friends:
I worked with Isaac as an EMS partner for a number of years and, most recently, crossed his paths while he came in and out of the doors at Medcomm. I enjoyed his positive attitude, uniqueness and commitment to the cause. He was a good person who made an irreversible choice.
I wish for you the courage and strength to move on into the future and that you may again find the beauty, peace, and joy that life can bring.

Isaac, I am proud to have been your EMT instructor. You were a pleasure to have in class. You were proud of the nickname "Q-tip" I gave to you. It was nice to run into you every once in a while to see how you kept up in serving in the EMS community. You will definitely be missed!

Isaac,
You were a good friend for many years, always had a positive cheery attitude. it was always a comforting feeling to hear your voice on the phone or on the radio. You were always 3 steps ahead of the others. Either at an incident or dispatching and trying to catch everyone up. You will be missed by more than you could of imagined.
My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your loved ones,
The Brotherhood & Sisterhood.
I was proud to be your Brother !

We are very sorry that we are unable to attend the service, but our thoughts are with you none the less, Isaac.
The communities you served and the services you dispatched were lucky to have someone as dedicated as you looking out for them. The world would be a much better place if everyone cared as much as you did. I have never met anyone so obsessed with taking care of other people and I doubt I ever will again.
Thanks for letting me borrow one of your cameras that summer and thanks for the numerous laughs we shared at Medcomm over the years.

Isaac, you were a great father to Maleah. You did many things she will always remember like taking her to Red Sox games, waterfront concerts, father daughter dances, camping and many trips to look at trains. You even saved Maleah, like so many other people, when she fell in the river at the boat docks at the Bangor waterfront when she was a little girl. I will always remember all the good times we shared.

Isaac, buddy, I’m so sorry I wasn’t there for you when you needed help. Candy and I tried to find you when I heard you were in trouble. You were a great father to Maleah and a very caring and thoughtful person that saved the lives of so many people. I will always love you like a son and I hope to see you again one day. Until then, I will try my best to look after your daughter. When I hear a Pink Floyd song I will think of you and better times. Rest in peace my friend.

Isaac, or Skippy as we called him, was my buddy back in the 90’s at Pilgrim Lodge, a summer camp. We went to camp together through middle school and high school. Through the years I watched Isaac grow into himself. The love for all of each other at camp and our sense of community really helped us all to grow, to feel loved and accepted, and to feel part of something greater. It warmed my heart to experience the love and acceptance of Skippy, and how that positively effected him; his self-esteem rose, and confidence grew. (Wonderfully it happened for so many of us there.) It was an experience I’ll never forget. I can say with almost full certainty that this experience helped Isaac gain the confidence to become the amazing Captain he was. He clearly cared about others tremendously, that’s what I remember about him; a huge heart. He’s a sweet and sensitive young man, with the biggest heart ever.
I love you Isaac. You will be sorely missed on this Earth. May your wings spread wide, you’ve got an important job to do in your life after death...Surely you will be there to help save others still, I just know it. I am sending nothing but all of my love, comfort, strength, and condolences to your family and all that loved you. I’m so sorry.

I and many others lost an EMS friend today. He maintained control of his destiny right up to and including the end. And all along his journey, his unseen tormentor waited until his guard was down, biding his time.
Skippy and I met during the EMS Memorial ride in 2010 and I last saw him when I was teaching at an EMS conference at the Samoset. We raised a glass together to our LODD friends.
Depression sucks the will to continue to fight, more so in public safety. Be it fueled intrinsically, extrinsically, or a combination of both, I’ll always wonder. I do know personally that some of the things we encounter stay with us forever, even if we did our best. There are haunting visions that peek under our scalp at inopportune times, they dance in our psyche with joy when we are our weakest. I hate mine.
I have no desire to shorten or end my time on earth but I view death as a release and relief from my pain. I did not know his tormentors, we don’t ask about them for the fear that they will rekindle our own; however, I do understand his choice. Goodbye Skippy: Muddy Angels.
May we all find peace and resilience when we tilt lances with our demons.
Skippy, we have it from here.

I met Skippy in May 2010 on my first National EMS Memorial Bike Ride (NEMSMBR) Instead of Skippy, I called him Youngin’. He was so dedicated to the NEMSMBR and so wanted to complete the entire ride. He inevitably had one issue after another, but was always willing to do what was necessary for the ride to be successful even if he was unable to ride.
I will miss Youngin’ at the next East Coast NEMSMBR. But one thing I do know, he will be at my back making sure I make it up the next hill. As he used to say, “Rest easy, my friend, we will take it from here!”

My sincere condolences, I am deeply saddened with Skippy’s tragic death. I first met Skippy at the 2018 Muddy Angels Ride from Boston to Washington. I knew him as the “guy who loaded up the Penske trucks”, every morning and evening. I would chat with him in the mornings - he always seem to be upbeat positive, down to earth and very helpful. On one of the days, my rear light fell off my bike. I asked him, if he would keep an eye out for it? A few hour laters, he walked up to me and says, “here you go” handing me the light. I did not know him well, this kind gesture meant a lot to me. I have had a few tears over his death, please reach out to people who may be suffering. Lending someone your ear, may go along way in making their day better. I pray his family, many friends, co-workers and his Muddy Angel family will find comfort and strength from each other during this very difficult time. May the many fond memories of Isaac bring you love and peace. May he Rest In Peace.
