We are so very sorry for your loss, and are expressing our heartfelt sympathy. We lived next door to Carl’s parents and we loved having them as neighbors. I remember the many nights I’d check in, that “Grammy Ginny” as we lovingly called her, would be on the phone with Carl. He’d call every night, like clockwork. After his parents passed, I saw them for a bit while doing some updates and were selling the house. As the saying goes about first impressions ....one hell of a nice guy who took care of family. I’m so very sorry

Carl we first met many years ago I was heading to Quebec with a load of wood and had a flat tire you stopped and helped me change it and we shook hands and from that day forward i had a friend that I had these observations over so many years, love of work,love of people, thought with his heart,helpful,talked to you not at you,asked how you were,his family first,Kathy,always listened,you thanked me for being a great friend Carl I thank you and so do so many others you did it with class, thank you

Dearest Cathy, Denise and Andrew, for several days now, I've tried to think how I can express my condolences to you so that you will know how I truly felt about your husband, Cathy and your Dad, Denise and Andrew. Carl was a gem. I loved him as my friend, I admired and respected him as a husband and father. I saw in Carl a Christian man, who lived the life of a true Christian, no pretense, no fakeness and no matter what, he was always kind and always had a smile for those he met. Cathy, Denise & Andy,
Words cannot adequately express our feelings for your loss. Carl was such a wonderful person. It seemed that the Post Office was our meeting place and I will certainly miss our chats. It never mattered how he felt, he always had time to talk. We are honored to have known him & to call him friend. He showed us all what it means to have courage. Our deepest of sympathy goes out to Carl's family. He was such a wonderful person and was always so kind. I often find myself remembering the times that we had as students with Carl as our Forestry teacher back in the day. Very fond memories and good times that I will always cherish. I am saddened to hear of Carl losing this battle both he and Cathy fought so bravely and tenaciously. Carl leaves a legacy of integrity and character his family can point to with pride. Both he and Cathy were excellent citizens and employees. (I have often said if I were going to start my own school, Cathy would be the first person I would hire.) I walk by their old home every morning and it saddens me they are no longer there. You are both missed but know that it is a good thing to be missed. It means you made a very positive impact on those around you.

Carl was my brother'law he was a sweet gentle soul
