Rena (Theriault) Miller

Hampden – Rena (Theriault) Miller, 74, wife of the late of Maynard B. Miller, died Oct. 12, 2018 at a Bangor nursing center. She was born June 25, 1944 in Millinocket, the daughter of Ernest and Mary Theriault.

Rena was a graduate of Schenck High School in East Millinocket and graduated from nursing school in Boston. She worked in Millinocket, at St. Joseph Hospital, Bangor and Eastern Maine Medical Center, Bangor as a licensed practical nurse retiring after 43 years of practice. Maynard and Rena were married May 17, 1969 at St. Peter’s Church in East Millinocket enjoying nearly 50 years of marriage. Rena was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, Hampden.

Surviving are one son, John Miller and his wife, Michelle of Hampden; four grandchildren, Spencer and Casey Miller of Hampden, Lexi and Colby Miller both of Dedham; three brothers, Alfred Theriault and his wife, Ella of East Millinocket, Gilbert Laforest of Memphis, TN and Harold Laforest and his wife, Paulette Dancause of Rimouski, Quebec; one brother-in-law, Ira Miller, Jr and his wife, Alice of Millinocket and a sister-in-law, Irene Alexander and her husband, Dallas of Mims, FL; nieces and nephews. Rena was predeceased by her husband one month ago, by her son, Michael Miller in 2014, by her biological mother, Lena Theriault, by a brother and sister, Gene Theriault and Patsy Laforest Ratayczak.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:30 AM Monday, October 22, 2018 at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, Western Ave., Hampden where friends may visit with family immediately prior to the beginning of Mass from 10 to 11:30 AM. Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Bangor. For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to Bangor Humane Society, 693 B Mt. Hope Ave., Bangor, ME  04401.
