Robert J. Roy
Hermon – Robert J. Roy, 68, died April 9, 2019 at the Maine Veterans Home in Bangor. He was born Jan. 15, 1951 in Bangor, the son of Alex J. and Leona M. (LeBritton) Roy. Robert went to school in the Old Town area and served in the US Navy during the Vietnam era from 1969 to 1971 aboard the USS Camden. Robert will be remembered as a loving father, brother, uncle and friend to many.
He is survived by his daughter, Bobbi-Jo Smith and her husband, Cameron and by one granddaughter, Riley Jo Smith; sisters, Leona Winslow and Anna Carr and her husband, Francis; many half-brothers and half-sisters, nieces and nephews too numerous to name. He was predeceased by his parents and by a brother, Larry Roy. He will be especially missed by his best friend, Bronwyn Patterson and her family of which he was a part of for over 22 years.
Family and friends may visit 3 – 5 PM Monday, April 15, 2019 at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 299 Union St., Bangor. Burial will be later in the spring at Fairmount Cemetery, Presque Isle. Messages and memories may be shared with his family at kileyandfoley.com.
