Obituary of Malcolm Silas Foss

Bangor & Mattawamkeag—Malcolm “Mickey” Silas Foss, 87, passed away June 19, 2019.  He was born October 25, 1931, in Mattawamkeag, the son of William and Grace (Rideout) Foss.

 

Mickey graduated from Mattawamkeag High School, Class of 1951.  He was drafted into the United States Army in 1952 and served as a sergeant in Korea.  Following his discharge, he worked for International Paper, retiring January 1, 1994, at age 62.  He was a Life Member of the VFW and a member of the Mattawamkeag United Methodist Church for many years.

 

He was predeceased by his parents; brother Harvey Foss; daughter Machele Foss Towle; sister Jean Bishop.  Mickey is survived by his wife and best friend Lois (Barker) Foss of Bangor; daughter Barbara Bruns and husband Robert of Brewer; grandchildren Brittany and Logan Towle, Jessica Bruns; sisters Barbara Smith of Dorion Canada, Marilyn Noddin of Millinocket; brother Wesley Foss and wife Carole of Boiling Springs, SC; several nieces and nephews.

 

A funeral service will be held 1 PM, Wednesday, June 26, 2019, at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 69 State St., Brewer.  Family and friends are invited to visit from 11 AM until the time of the service.  Burial will take place at a later time at the Mattawamkeag Cemetery.  Messages and memories may be shared with the family at kileyandfoley.com
