Dana Harlow

Obituary of Dana Fredric Harlow

Dana F. Harlow, 55, passed away peacefully Dec. 31, 2019 in Bangor after a brief illness with his family by his side. He was born in Bangor, May 4, 1964, the son of Carol Ann (Drake) Clark and Carroll Harlow. Dana was an artist and entertainer. No matter what he was doing he was entertaining. He was a mason by trade having an excellent eye for building chimneys and fireplaces and was a true perfectionist. Dana was also an electrician and a mechanic. He loved doing autobody work and fixing vehicles, something he did well. He enjoyed racing and it was a passion that never left him. He bought several racetrucks and put different drivers in them racing against his wife and father-in-law, cousins, Peter Drake and Brett Crosby and Anthony Moore, whom he considered a son. Dana loved camping especially at Schoodic & Unknown Lake and he had fond memories as a child camping with his family. Surviving are his wife Tammy Harlow of Clifton; his mother and stepfather, Carol Ann and Don Clark of Eddington; father, Carroll Harlow of Orrington and his significant other, Barbara Boone of Sangerville; brother and sister-in-law, Dean and Debbie Harlow of Corinth; sister-in-law, Candy Belanger; father-in-law and best friend, James Carr, Jr and his significant other, Donna Lancaster of Clifton; stepdaughter, Lynette and her husband, Jordan Gadoury and granddaughter, Olivia Ann of Hampden; nephew, Mason Harlow of Tennessee, niece, Elizabeth Hernandez, niece, Twila Betts and her husband, Dan Betts of Holden; cousin, Peter Drake and his wife, Angela of Orrington; several aunts and uncles. Dana had many friends too many to list but Carlteton Shaw, Clifton Brown, Miles Jamieson, Mike Ouelette, Bub Look, Tommy Larsen, Kenny Ladd and DJ Noyes were his closest. He was predeceased by his twin brother, David Harlow, grandparents, Harold and Florence Drake, Uncle Larry Drake and his wife, Sandra Drake and by his wife grandparents, Donald Davis and Bunny Woodard. He will be missed by his loving fur babies, Monroe and Miss Piggy. Dana’s family gratefully thanks the Sixth Floor Staff of St. Joseph Hospital for their excellent care. Family and friends may visit 5 – 7 PM Monday, Jan. 6, 2020 at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 69 State St., Brewer. Family also invites friends to gather immediately afterward at a place to be announced. “Gone from my sight, that is all. He is just as large in mast and hull and spar as he was when he left my side and he is just as able to bear the load of living freight to his destined port. His diminished size is in me, not in him. And just at that moment when someone by my side says, “There, he is gone”, there are other eyes watching him coming with voices ready to take up the glad shout. Her he comes!” Keep on racing, Dana. Gone but never forgotten.
