Obituary of N. Dale Hatch
Norman Dale "Slapshot" Hatch, 59, passed away in the early morning on January 12, 2020 with his loving wife, Theresa, by his side. He was born March 4, 1960, the son of fellow Anah Clown member Norman A. “Hoopy-Scoopy” and Shirley (Hodgdon) Hatch of Hermon, ME.
Dale was a graduate of Hermon High School in 1978, where he was voted Class President two years in a row. In 1976, at the age of 16, Dale began a life-long career with Dysart’s Service, Inc., where he held several positions until his passing. Dale was a proud member of the Mystic Lodge #65 Hampden AF&AM, the Anah Shrine Clown Unit where he held the position of Boss Clown, the Northeast Shrine Clown Association, International Shrine Clown Association, and a member of the Scottish Rite, Valley of Bangor; he was also Past Master of the Star in the East #60 AF & AM. Dale had a great sense of humor and was always making others laugh. He had a great love for country music, baseball, Nascar, clowning, and discussing politics, but his greatest love was spending time with his family, especially his grandkids, whom he adored.
Dale was predeceased by his father, Norman in 1988. He is survived by his wife, Theresa (Lajoie) Hatch; children Justin Hatch and his wife, Jessica, Nicole (Hatch) LaFlamme and her husband, Matthew, and Darren Hatch; grandchildren, Reagan Hatch, Charlotte LaFlamme, and Camden LaFlamme; mother Shirley Hatch; siblings Reid Hatch and wife Claudia, James Hatch and wife Linda, Mary (Hatch) Faloon and husband Rick, and Shirlene (Hatch) Lindsey and husband Fred, as well as many nieces and nephews; the 1978 Pump Jockey Crew and life-long friends, Dana Fogg, Bret Bishop, Marty Brown, as well as their significant others Cheryl Wilcox, Tammy Bishop and Vicky Brown, respectively; and many, many friends.
