Dale Western Ireland, 63, of Bangor Maine passed away unexpectedly Feb. 16, 2020 at Main Hall. Dale was born in Farmington, Maine on July 6, 1956. He was predeceased by his mother Joyce Prescott Ireland in 1965 and later by his father Rev. Ernest Ireland and special step mother Ethel Prescott Ireland. He was a member of the first graduating class of SACS in 1974. He finished four years of college, majoring in history. He served four years in the US Navy and later in the Army Reserves. He worked many years as a CRMA/DSP at Green Valley Association homes in Island Falls and Patten and with the Getchell Agency in Bangor. Dale was an avid sports fan and especially loved the Boston Red Sox, St. Louis Cardinals, Green Bay Packers, Katahdin Cougars and Southern Aroostook girls’ teams. Dale is survived by his daughter, Brittany and her husband Christian Ouellette; a grandson, Kaedyn of Old Town; and his favorite son, Jordan and his mother, Barbara Ireland of Sherman; sisters, Donna and husband Warren Walker of Island Falls, Debbie and Rev. Jim Ackerson of Presque Isle; a brother, Dennis and his wife Sandy of Clinton, Mississippi. He treasured his time spent with nieces and nephews and their families and his friends at Main Hall. His faith was strong, he believed in prayer and in Dale’s words, “From God’s breath to your ears, God’s grace will be in all of this”. At Dale’s request there will be no services. A private graveside remembrance will be held at a later date in Guilford, Maine. Arrangements by Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, Bangor and Brewer.
