Please share a memory of Linda to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Linda M. Williams, 70, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2020 at a Brunswick hospital after a brief illness. She was born in Bangor January 31, 1950, the daughter of John and Dora “Dody” Mogan. Her family moved from Bangor to Clifton when she was a young girl. Linda attended the Harold Allen School, a one-room schoolhouse in Clifton and graduated from Brewer High School, class of 1969. She married Melvin Williams, the love of her life, in 1968. Linda and Melvin lived in Clifton and raised one son. Linda was a homemaker known for her baking, especially spice cake with peanut butter frosting, graham cracker pie and chocolate candies. Her favorite place on earth was the wild blueberry fields on Woodchuck Hill in Clifton. In the late 1980’s Linda and Melvin started Linda’s Maine Wild Blueberries and opened their roadside stand on Route 9. Linda enjoyed raking blueberries into her 60’s. She was her son’s number one fan and could be found at every swim meet he attended most often the loudest person cheering at the pool. In later years, you would find her at her grandson’s activities. She was especially excited to watch and cheer them on at swim meets. You’d find her in the stands wearing an orange Brewer shirt cheering as loud as she could. Linda was predeceased by her loving husband of 34 years, Melvin; her parents John and Dora “Dody” Mogan; and brother John Mogan. She is survived by her son John and wife Eileen of Clifton; three grandsons John II and fiancé Sara Delso of Clifton; Brent and wife Carmen of Brewer; Josh and girlfriend Megan Fuqua of Boston, Massachusetts; Great granddaughter Hadley Williams of Brewer; Brother in law Raymond Williams and wife Laurie of Ellsworth; Sister in law Margaret Dougherty and husband Louis of Eddington; Sister in law Elizabeth Grinnell and husband Don of Washington; Sister in law Ruth Perry and husband Jay of Clifton; a special cousin, Lucille and husband Charlie Guay; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She had many life-long friends including Rick and Shirley Grover, Allen and Patti Fournier and her elementary teacher, Vickie Austin. The family would like to exted their appreciation to family members and friends for their ongoing support and a special thanks to staff at the Hawthorne House and Mid Coast Hospital. A graveside service will be held 3 PM Friday, July 3, 2020 at Maplewood Cemetery, Route 180, Clifton. Messages and memories may be shared with Linda’s family at kileyandfoley.com.
