Obituary of Joseph R. Norman
Charleston – Joseph R. Norman, 86, husband of the late Christine G. Norman died March 15, 2020 at his home in Charleston surrounded by his family. He was born Dec. 22, 1933 in Skowhegan, the son of Albert L. Norman and Thelma D. (Foss) Norman.
Joseph worked for many years at James River Paper Co in Old Town retiring as foreman. He enjoyed many things some of which include hunting, playing cards, square dancing and watching old western movies.
Surviving are three children, Chester “Chet” Whitney and his wife, Doreen of Hermon, Sheila Palmer of Madison and Cheryl Tate and her husband, Donnie Tate of Charleston; four grandchildren, Jennifer Dudley, Kelly Norman, Joseph Hunt and Jessica Goody Smith; several great grandchildren; one brother, Arthur Norman of Embden; several step siblings; several nieces and nephews. He will be remembered by dear friends, Theresa & Ron Allen. He was predeceased by his son, Robert Norman, two granddaughters, Jamie and Kathy Goody and by a son-in-law, Stuart Palmer.
