Rockland, Mass - Susan McCloskey, 67, passed away peacefully on March 26, 2020 at home. Susan grew up in Bangor, where she attended St. Mary’s primary school and John Bapst High School. In 1981, Susan graduated from the School of Nursing at Salem State College and she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing at San Francisco State University in 1985. Susan completed a four-month preceptorship in psychiatric nursing at Letterman Army Medical Center, which launched a thirty-five year career in psychiatric nursing working at hospitals in California, Maine, and Massachusetts. Susan overcame many medical challenges in her life stemming from a severe childhood illness. Despite those challenges, she was able, through grit and determination, to continue her work as a psychiatric nurse. She served as a supervisor at Taunton State Hospital up until the fall of 2019. Susan was predeceased by her parents, Eleanor and Frank McCloskey. Susan leaves behind and will be deeply missed by her brother John and his wife Barbara and her brother Jay and his wife Nancy. Susan is also survived by her loving nephews and nieces: Sean, Jack, Sharlene, Abby, and Lily. A Catholic memorial Mass will be celebrated later in the summer and a private burial will be at Mt. Private burial will take place at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Bangor and a memorial Mass will be celebrated later this summer at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. John's Catholic Church, Bangor
