Obituary of Carolyn D. Coleman
Carolyn Daisy Coleman, age 88, died peacefully following many years of debilitating neuropathy, anemia and diabetes.
*Carolyn chose to write her own obituary.
I was born in Springfield, Maine January 20, 1932, daughter of Edward and Frances (Worster) Coleman. I graduated from Brewer High School in 1950 and University of Maine at Orono in 1978. I was employed as a Residential Advisor at Job Corps, Residential Director at Bangor YWCA, Certified Nurses Aid at Brewer Convalescent Center and Eastern Maine Medical Center including Private Duty Nursing for several years. I loved the ocean, 70’s and 80’s country music, folk and Irish music by Daniel O’Donnell. I liked writing poetry, several of which have been published. I was extremely happy residing at Chamberlain Place in Brewer. All residents, staff and maintenance were considered as friends. It was a safe, clean, orderly and proud place to call home. I was always treated with respect and fairness from all staff and maintenance. I need to express my love and pride regarding my five children gifted to me. I am survived by one son, Larry F. Cameron and his children Keith, Chris and Julie; three daughters, Catherine (Cathy) A. Cameron and her children Ryan and Ashley; Theresa Cameron Raymond and husband Tom, and their children Laurier and Helena; and Beth M. Baron and husband Richard and their children Brieanna and Kaitlyn; one sister, Marion F. Porter; two brothers, Vaughn E. Coleman and wife Marlene; Richard A. Coleman and companion Sandra Noyes; eight great grandchildren; several dear nieces and cousins. I have always respected and loved my Coleman and Adams cousins of whom I grew up with and have held many happy memories. I am predeceased by my parents and dear daughter, Barbara C. Cameron and nephew Michael Porter. I have many great friends including Eunju Yang (Grace) Hernandez and her sister Young Hee Yang (Lily), Richard E. Russell, Gloria Sands, Johanna Cameron and Chris Dolloff.
Carolyn’s family members are most thankful to the Woodlands Senior Living Center of Brewer for warmly welcoming their mother into their family of amazing elders. Also, deepest gratitude to Dr. Erin Chandler, and Kindred Hospice care providers Auburn, Pam, Michelle, Lyndsey and Eric for their joyful, consistently tender, daily care.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 Am Friday, Aug. 13, 2021 at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. Teresa's Catholic Church, South Main St., Brewer. Burial will be at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Ohio St., Bangor with an outdoor reception time to immediately follow. Memorial donations may be made to Maine Multiple Sclerosis Society HERE
