Obituary of Stephen Thomas Shaw

Stetson--Stephen Thomas Shaw, 39, died unexpectedly at home on September 20, 2020, of natural causes. He was born August 6, 1981, to Phillip & Catherine (McAlpine) Shaw of Etna. He was the beloved husband of Corinne Babcock Shaw and the adored father of his princess, Trinity Ava Shaw. After graduating from Nokomis High School, he started After Hours Landscaping, a business he ran while working a variety of full time jobs. Seven years ago, he left Vic Firth to run his business full time. He loved to go on ATV & snowmobile rides with his brother and brother-in-law James Babcock. Steve loved family trips with his girls, mother-in-law Julie Babcock, sister-in-law Bethany/Corey Leighton and their children Jewel, Jaden, and Corey Jr. His sister was very special to him, being there for the birth of her children JT and Chase, and celebrating many birthdays together. Steve loved holidays and Christmas was his favorite. He was like a big kid often comparing who got the coolest toys with the kids. Most of all he loved spending time with his girls and family. Steve had a lot of friends, who held a very special place in his heart. Steve was predeceased by very special grandparents Earl and Ruth Dow; grandfather John Shaw. He is survived by his wife Corinne; daughter Trinity; parents Phillip and Catherine; brother Robert Shaw and wife Mindy of Etna; sister Casey Lawler and husband Brian of Etna; grandmother Avis Shaw of Carmel; grandfather Charles McAlpine of Levant; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters in-law. The family wishes to thank special friends Brian and Shannon Furrow, Travis and Fred Janvrin and Rob Gould for their support. A Celebration of Life will be held 1-4 PM Sunday, September 27, 2020, at 1962 Moosehead Trail, Plymouth.
