On behalf of the extended Bridges family, our sincerest condolences on your loss. We all have so many fun memories of Med -- and I remember just laughing a lot when I was with him -- finding humor in all the little things and in nothing at all. We still say "Ice Glice" when the family is together when we want ice cream -- as Med couldn't remember the french word during a camping trip to the Gaspe in Canada -- so "ad libbed" as only he could. We also will say "Reisch" a lot when something is surprising -- another Medley word that made its way into our family vocabulary. What a genuine and wonderful man -- and how much fun we had camping, playing tennis, sharing picnics, having a Tim Horton's coffee, etc. He was one-of-a-kind and will be greatly missed. Our best to the Cotton family.

Med Cotton was my tennis coach in high school. And he--and tennis--taught me to move past mistakes and failures and focus on the the next point. Great advice for life. Such a kind, witty man. I always felt so fancy playing on his clay courts.

As a former educator, I extend my condolences to the family of Mr. Cotton. A man who touched the lives of many in such positive ways and was much appreciated by all who knew him. I hope the wonderful memories of him provide your family with comfort in this time of sadness and may God's promises bring you hope. Isaiah 26:19; Psalm 37:11, 29

Our sincere condolences to Med's family. Med was one of the nicest and most interesting people we have ever known! When we moved into our home in Hermon, Med was the first neighbor to visit and welcome us to the neighborhood. Took about 3 minutes to discover that we were all Aroostook transplants and our County experiences and knowledge were thereafter a focal point in our conversations. While we were neighbors in Hermon, we were able to visit with Med frequently and enjoyed his many stories about his military service, teaching experiences, and life in general. And he always had a joke or funny story to tell! Med dearly loved his family and spoke fondly of you often. Gonna miss him! God bless.

I first met Mr Cotton at the Odlin Road Tim Horton's Restaurant a few years ago. He and I shared an interest in the Volkswagen brand and often talked about them. Our paths often crossed at that restaurant and the one on Main Street. Reading his obituary I realized that not only did our paths crossed in Bangor, but in two other locations. My son attended and graduated from the Limestone High School. During my Air Force career I was stationed at the Prum Air Station, which was located in the area where the Battle of the Bulge occurred during World War II.
I will always remember him asking about my Beetle. He had that inquisitive mind and I will miss him greatly.

I was privileged to meet this amazing human a couple of winters ago. He sat beside me at a hockey game at UMaine and a couple of weeks later at a basketball tournament game in Bangor. We struck up conversation both times and became immediate friends. He told me that he was always looking for a friend who could drive at night so that he could go to all the fun things that he was not able to drive himself to.
He was appropriately friendly and I wish I had lived closer so that I could’ve driven him to more events and gotten to know him better. Our second meeting we laughed and said how nice that we happened into the same space again! Both of us were a little concerned that the other would feel stalked! We laughed, placed ourselves back at the Alfond the week before, and chatted like old friends. He handed me a few coffee coupons and said to go into Tim Hortons and say hello to his daughter. I tried but never connected with her. I am sure all you Cottons are as amazing as your Dad. What a breath of fresh air he was. He blessed my life and I just wanted to let you know. May he Rest In Peace and May you all cherish your blessed memories.

Can’t pull the wool over his eyes! Med was part of a great generation of educators. Laugh and cry with tears of joy when you tell the family stories.
