It is with great sadness that the family of Lucille Hattie Parent announce her passing on Dec. 17, 2020 in Bangor.  Lucille was born in Lille, Maine on April 7, 1920, the daughter of Joseph A. and Leona (Cyr) Cormier and lived 100 years.

Lucille was an accomplished piano accompanist and singer as she and her husband entertained throughout the St. John Valley. She was a church organist for 74 years. One of her most memorable experiences was playing the 50th anniversary mass for a pilgrimage couple in Cana, Israel. She traveled several times to shrines in the Holy Land, Europe and Mexico. For over 30 years she co-organized religious pilgrimages to Notre Dame du Cap and Ste. Anne de Beaupre with Fern Michaud Dube and the late Normande Cyr.

Anne Mother of the Year 1995 and the recipient of Grand Isle’s Boston Post cane in 2015. Memere will forever be remembered as the perfect hostess at the many gatherings in her home, especially for the abundance of love, food and her famous ployes.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the Visiting Nurses of Aroostook, Care and Comfort and Aroostook Home Health Services for the professional care given to Lucille in her final years at home. A profound appreciation to neighbor, Pat Reynolds for her unselfish, twice daily commitment to our mother. She was a God-sent angel.
